Our Big Sunbeam!

On Sunday, the 24the, Ryan was able to participate for the first time in opening exercises in primary! He actually had double duty. As soon as sacrament meeting was over, the two of us quickly walked to the primary room where he was a reverent child. He stood at the front of the room with a sign around his neck that said "Reverence child". He stood there the whole time with his arms folded and a big grin on his face.

Later he was able to give the scripture. We had practiced several times the night before. We practiced in front of Daddy, then GranDee & then Grandpa John. When it was his turn to say the scripture for real he did a GREAT job! He spoke right into the microphone and said the scripture very clear, even the big words!

We are so proud of you Ryan!!!

An unexpected Dip!

Monday night, Daddy was giving Ryan a bath because Ryan accidently sat in the toilet water while trying to help his little brother brush his teeth. Matt was getting a washcloth for Ryan while Ryan was playing in the bathtub and all of a sudden we hear Nathan wimper a bit. Matt goes in the bathroom to see quite the sight. Nathan had been dipping his had into the tub, but now he was IN it, clothes and all, including his shoes. Matt pulled him and forced all his wet clothes off. He was in a nice heavy fleece outfit so, it soaked up a ton of water!!! As soon as Nathan was undressed, he took off running. This is the only picture we were able to get of this adventure!

Already a Rebel!

Sunday morning, after having a yummy breakfast & finishing off a gallon of milk, Nathan saw the empty jug and wanted to play with it. After we gave it to him he started "drinking" from it. He would put it up to his mouth, tilt his head back and tip the jug up into the air. We thought it was cute & comical at the same time. See what you think...

I thought we didn't have to worry about teaching him not to drink from the milk jug until he was a teenager!!!

Construction Helpers

GranDee & Grandpa John are in the middle of re-modeling their home. While we were at their house, their bedroom was the construction zone. On Saturday, Papa needed to do some electrical work and of course the boys decided they wanted to help. Papa let them help by giving them some of the scews & other things he would need. Each boy got a red cup to keep their items in. I think Ryan did a better job at actually keeping his items in his cup! Nathan just liked to walk through the consturction zone whenever possible & smile as he did so!

GranDee decided she had enough of all the construction mess on the carpet & decided to vaccum part way through the morning. Ryan decided he wanted to help her. The vaccum they used is quite old and loud, & to be honest I was surprised he didn't run to hide when it was turned on! He tried his best to helep her, but he just couldn't quite keep it on the ground, but he did a great job non-the-less. Way to go boys. Our big helpers!!!!

Water Fun

We spent the weekend at GranDee & Grandpa John's house so that mommy could have some help with the boy's in the mornings while daddy was at work. One morning while we there, GranDee introduced Nathan to the art of playing in the kitchen sink with the water turned on. No too long after Nathan started playing, big brother, Ryan came along and wanted to play too. Of course Ryan could reach farther than his little brother, but it was fun for the both of them. Nathan got a kick of filling up his measuring cup, dumping it out, & starting the whole process over again! Thanks for the fun GranDee!!!!

Isn't food supposed in your mouth?

February 6, Matt made Mac & Cheese for the boys for lunch. We both thought that Nathan was eating his like he usually does and then he told us he was done, by throwing his food around and dumping it out of the bowl etc. Matt went to clean him up and this is what we found...

Nathan, had more in his lap than he actually had in his mouth & stomach. Since this day, Mac & Cheese has not been a great success with him.
Ryan of course loves his Mac & Cheese. He also loves to show off his "cheesy" grin whenever possible and whenever we take a picture of Nathan, we get to take one of him too.

Ryan's 4th Birthday - Take 2

Monday January 28, Ryan's actual birthday turned out to be a HUGE snowstorm. Of course it didn't start snowing until the afternoon, which is when his "friends" party took place. A few of our good friends braved the blizzard and came to his "Jurassic" Party.

Ryan has been into dinosaurs recently, so Daddy & I decided that would be a fun theme. We helped the kids make dino hats....

The kids played a relay game where they put on a pair of "dino feet" and they had to carry a "dino" egg on the end of a spoon down a path and around a chair and back again! It was actually quite fun to watch the kids and cheer them on.

There was a dino on our wall that was missing his party hat, so the kids played "pin the hat on the dino".

Of course their favorite part was having Ryan open his gifts & eating cake & ice cream.

Ryan's first "friends" party was a hit despite the frightful weather outside!

Ryan's 4th Birthday - Take 1

The day before Ryan's actually birthday, Sunday the 27th, we had all of his family over for a Luau party in January. His grandparents, aunts, uncles, & cousins came to join in for the festivities. He even had a few special guest attend his party as Aunt Angie's mom, dad, and family friend were in town.

The house was decorated with little plastic leis, courtesty of GranDee & the cake was decorated as an ocean with some beach.

As usual Ryan made out like a bandit, recieving a load of toys & other fun things. His cousins wanted to help him open all his presents & couldn't sit still as he opened them one by one.

I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

I'm Back...Kind of!

Well, it has been a little over two weeks since my surgery and I am can finally sit at the computer and type with just a little effort. So I can finally get back to blogging and get everyone up to speed on our family and all the funny things our boys do!

But at the moment, Ryan is begging me to let him play a computer game a.k.a "puter game" as he puts it. So I am being kicked off for the time being but will be back either tonight or tomorrow to begin the long proccess of getting caught up!

On Vacation!!! If You can call it that!

Just so nobody gets upset that there are no new posts... I am taking a short hiatus until I recover from my surgery which could be a few weeks. It is hard and very uncomfortable for me to sit at the computer...so TTFN. I'll catch up with all the fun stuff later (including Ryan's 4th birthday)
